Masquerade at McCutcheon
My day started like every other... Sort of. The night before We got dominated in basketball. 32 to 75, really Mavs, I know we can do better. Anyway I was walking to the Gym from the Band Room to help my fellow percussionists pack up the Drum sets and the platforms when I saw my Ex's mother walking with my ex's friend (I do not like her friend, she's a bad person). I was stopped by her and we had a conversation, in the middle of the conversation I saw my ex and her friend walk out past the corner, she took one look at me and did a 180. I thought it was comical because I've been doing that ever since she started hating me. Well to my ex I have to say I wish you well and I hope that if you ever get a boyfriend that you obviously don't deserve you don't ruin his perception of love. Forget you. Back to Saturday, I woke up, sat on the couch, watched some television, texted a few people, got dressed, etc... It was a pretty normal day until 8:00 rolled around, I was dressed up for a special occasion, what occasion was that? A Masquerade! Our school was hosting a Masquerade Ball which inevitably turn into a grind-fest... gross, I was asked to dance with a few people and I turned them down, I don't have a girlfriend and there was nothing wrong with the people, it was just that I feel like I'm betraying myself if I dance with someone. The dance was fun, Semi-formal attire, great friends, okay music... I guess, In general it was really fun and I'm glad I went. Someone in our group actually ripped his pants while he was dancing, Priceless. Most of the people wore masks and they were really neat and creative but by the end of the dance everyone had taken off the masks and just started being themselves. I have to say though that the slow songs left me feeling empty inside, rather than dancing with a girl or a girlfriend, I danced with my phone while I was texting a friend from out of town. All in all, for only being the second dance I've been to in my two years of being here I had fun and enjoyed it. Can't wait to see what Prom's like next year.
